Did any of them actually play for SR or just their elite club teams? Pretty common for kids not playing for their school team because it’s not on their level. Plus SR doesn’t give credit for doing club sports which would actually encourage school participation (I.e. other schools give you independent study credit for club sports as long as you play that sport for the school)

You do get PE credit if you play outside of school. My DD did this last year.

In US? I only know of this for grades 7/8. This is one of many reasons we turned down SR.

Curious to know what sport your daughter does that SR upper school not giving her credit for an outside team was “one of the many reasons” for turning SR down.

FWIW—PE credit needed in upper school is very very minimal (I think it’s the equivalent of 3 trimesters). DD graduated a couple years ago but not remotely athletic. She got PE credit for fitness walking and a few intramural sports.

SR gives PE credit (but not always) for MS girls playing on an outside club team.

Are we really buying kids 150k cars these days? We can afford it, I’m just not sure what’s the point? What happened to the classic DMV trope “don’t show your wealth”

Is this your first rodeo? Take a look in student lots around DMV privates and you will see a very similar assortment of $$$ cars that kids are driving. Plenty of very expensive cars in the Whitman lot too.

Not all of them are claiming to be Catholic institutions, fight climate change, eradicate systems of oppression, etc.

You left out that these are all athletic recruits. But yes that is impressive. There is also a lacrosse commit to Princeton.

+1.

All of these girls play for both SR and club lacrosse teams

No, from my understanding a few of these girls were field hockey players.
