Yes. It’s Johnson who is speaker of the House, which is where appropriations bills originate. Seems he didn’t get around to it.

This nonsense of stuffing all this pork into a CR before the holidays needs to stop.
Johnson should have passed a budget.
But he wasn’t capable of doing so.
One person doesn’t pass a budget. Why didn’t the Dems vote to avoid this shutdown? Where is Biden? Presidents historically are in town rallying votes during this process as head of his party.

Again, the Republican House majority had years to come up with separate spending bills that would pass and did not.

Why is the left so suddenly scared of private citizens speaking up? We heard a lot from Zuckerberg during Covid. He isn’t a boogeyman, he is a citizen with a voice as all of us have. Congress, do your jobs! Without a pay raise and without the pork.

What is it you think he should be doing? His party negotiated a bill that he is reportedly satisfied with. He’s supposed to convince Republicans to vote for it? Why? Most of them were happy to do so before Elon Musk told them not to.
Seriously? He should be rallying the votes to pass a spending bill. One that can actually pass. Is he or is he not the president? Where is he? If you are foolish enough to think this is about Elon and not the constituents calling their congressmen once they found out about pork, then I guess just sit back and enjoy the political wilderness. Elon doesn’t have a vote, this is about congress. Biden has a role to play.

This fiasco is a preview of things to come. The fault lines in the GOP are now being exposed, but then again, they were never really hidden to begin with. I know Trump is getting pissed that the media is saying the he reports to Elon, so who knows - maybe that will motivate him to prevent a shutdown.
