Please don’t start a “Sidwell-Wow!” thread. This is more GDS’ style, so let them have it. Please and thank you!

My daughter is a junior and we have no idea what the year is shaping up to look like. Only 25% are on the Instagram.

Tells you a lot about the school and the people in it.
Not all of us run to post on social media when our kid gets into an Ivy. Christ
Umm others years when Sidwell had good college admits those "modest" kids were happy to crow about it on social media asap. Sooo. maybe this year Sidwell has nothing to report? Live by the sword die by the sword, people. Interesting that the parents who love to denigrate GDS on this forum simply cannot just say- "Wow good job." Seven (that we know of) Harvard admits in one class. Why is it so hard to just say the kids did great?
Relax, GDS Mom. Sidwell has 10 Ivy admits posted on Instagram so far, compared to GDS’ 14. You and I both know that no matter what the numbers end up being this year, Sidwell was/is/will always be superior to GDS. But please enjoy those extra 4 admits for now…
Everyone deserves their time in the sun (especially after the results GDS’ c/o ‘23 endured).
Overnight, the posted Ivy count went up to 13 for Sidwell (3 Harvard bound). GDS is still holding on to its lead by its fingernails and a prayer (14). The final numbers will be close this year because I know there’s a Sidwell student waiting to post her Penn admit.
Sidwell toxicity at its best
Sidwell is past 20 Ivy at this point. I am sure GDS and the other schools will report additional numbers in the coming days as well.

So uh… what schools will the rest of the 60-70% of students be attending….? I’m surprised U of SC is among them(not Southern California)!
Looks like a nice variety so far….Wake, NYU, Kenyon, Vassar. Lots left….
Did something happen regarding their relationship with UChicago? A few years ago they had so many admits
I don’t think it was a popular choice this year. Not sure why.
It si very popular. Sidwell has at least 8 students going there this year.

NP and not affiliated with GDS or Sidwell, but in what way is Sidwell superior to GDS?
Academically speaking, I don't think so, in fact the inverse might be true. If you take math competitions for example, GDS has done lot better than Sidwell.
Sidwell also consistently does better than GDS when it come NMSFs.
Here are the 2024 numbers:
DC
St. Alban’s 5
NCS 2
GDS 1
Sidwell 8
Gonzaga 1
St. Anselm’s Abbey 1
Maret 1
WIS 1

This has been obvious to anyone with half a brain, but they got eviscerated for being racist / hating the poor.Anonymous wrote:lol ---- in the new system it was supposed to be Private School kids that were hurt. It is not turning out that way last year or this. New system favors Private School kids.
Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:The strength of a school is not how many Ivy admits it has because those kids at any one of these places are overwhelmingly hooked. The strength is where they send their bottom 50% kids. Or bottom 20% kids.
This is all yet to be determined.
💯
And whether at least 60% gets into a t25-35….thats a sign of strength
