When he is advocating to make public schools unsafe for our kids it speaks volumes of his character. His kids get safe schools while ours have to contend with violence, bullying, sexual assaults daily?
I thought he was against SROs? If he's trying to make schools less safe, he would be pro-SRO at least based on the actual studies.

Well, the fact that he thinks the private school is a much better option that his McPS middle school and high school says something about his view of the schools. I guess his answer would be that he took his kids out of MCPS because of the racist admins and SROs, not because of all the weapons, drugs and general disruption.
Do any of the council members have kids in McPS middle or high schools? I’m not sure. I don’t think a politician needs to have a personal stake in a problem to be motivated to fix it, but it is kind of depressing when the council person doesn’t listen to what the teachers, admins or parents are saying about the problems at the same time that he has opted himself and his family out of the situation. He’s not my favorite.
+1 the progressive council members are out of touch, living in lalaland.

I'm a middle school teacher, and I fricking hate, hate, hate restorative justice. We desperately need DISCIPLINE in our schools! This is a huge factor in what is driving teachers out!
