Paul Bartkowski is the lawyer who filed suit in representation of FCPS families against the Fairfax County School Board and its Superintendent, Scott Brabrand, right after the Virginia governor signed an executive order to end mask mandate in schools, and they refused to comply with it.

Karl Frisch doesn’t care about education. He’s just a bag man for the LBGTQ lobby and he’s only running for re-election because his effort to get elected to the House of Delegates tanked last fall when he lost a primary. Not sure what other job he could get.

I have always voted Democrat and I won't be voting for Frisch this go round. He has done bascially the opposite of what Providence families have wanted his entire term. I'm sure he will win re-election, given the extreme blue tint of the district, but it won't be via a vote from me.

That would explain the current state of things at FCPS: Oversensitivity has taken precedence over academics.

The explanation on my PP about when to use I, as opposed to me, was not intended to judge anyone personally. It was meant to shade some light on the subject in case some students read these postings — judging by some responses in this blog, I know they are and they could certainly use the clarification. I honestly hope our schools at FCPS have a tolerant environment where students (and teachers) can feel free to discuss ideas and grow daily as a result.

Perhaps candidate Robyn Lady can elaborate on how feelings don’t cancel knowledge? Most parents would love to hear about that from her, particularly when it’s become evident how Transformative Social Emotional Learning (SEL) is embedded in every area of our children’s educational experience at FCPS nowadays.

Why shouldn’t parents expect school board candidates to know basic rules of grammar, especially when they tout their credentials as educators?

On the other hand, if Robyn and Jimmy were the ones who invited the donors over, then they would be the subject of the sentence and the donors the object. Therefore, Robyn could say: Jimmy and I invited the donors over…

I met Paul Bartkowski recently. I was personally impressed by his honest desire to make a change and to bring some sense of balance to the ideologically driven School Board. As a devoted father of kids in the FCPS system and as a lawyer, he brings knowledge and experience on what is really needed and how it can be done.
