Damn! If that’s true and I have no doubt it is there will be riots in the gated trailer parks tonight out in Haymarket tonight. 😂

Curious to read what happened? After the YHS destruction Battlefield appeared to be unstoppable. Curious what Robinson did to score 16.

All I can think of is Taurean Prince‘s answer after Baylor lost.

Langley must be really down, compared to their past teams.

Have you ever heard of rebuilding? When you lose a big class you rebuild, idiot.

The poster just said they must be down compared to past seasons. That is a fact. They lost a ton of really good talent and the replacement talent is not at the same level. Call it rebuilding or whatever you want. But just because the truth hurts is no reason to attack and call them an idiot. However...not surprised a Langley parent would post this. Stay classy y'all.

Crushed? First half was a slug fest and was tied at the half (6 all I think). Yorktown played a bit “strong style” and got away with some questionable “playing” but they didn’t get called so whatever.

Cville came out the second half and just seemed to maul Yorktown. The score was indicative to that Cville team. 😳 not slagging ytown but that Cville team is GOOD. I thought it was hype around them this year but, holy crap. . . Extremely well coached, talent rich and just fast.

And for all I heard that their parents and crowd were jerks, I found the opposite. Even their announcer was complimentary to Ytown and knew his stuff. A few really jerk ytown parents but I get that with the way the game was going.

Really, a fun game and worth the $5 and the frozen toes and fingers.

I was there as well. It was a great, hard-fought first half. They both looked like really solid teams. Yorktown definitely wasn't at the level they were last year, but they played a good first half. The second half was a different story altogether. Centreville made adjustments. Yorktown did not...except maybe changing the goalie once or twice. I really think Yorktown was just flat out outcoached. In the second half Centreville dominated the draw and possession and and Yorktown couldn't figure it out. When Yorktown did have the ball Centreville did a nice job of shutting them down and the Centreville goalie played great. I think Yorktown also had a few too many unforced turnovers, bad passes, dropped passes. Yorktown also had a few cards and Centreville capitalized on the advantage.

I also thouhgt the announcer did a great job, was high-energy and was complimentary to both teams.

I thought both teams' parents were fine. I didn't hear anything "jerky" from either side where I was sitting.

The weather sucked...big time. But I got to watch some good lacrosse.

The facts are the Langley coach killed their program starting from last year when she took over, again, ask anyone close to the program. I get rebuilding and I get the time and sacrifice it takes, but if you were not s close to the program then i suggest you take a bake seat and be quiet because you have no clue what your talking about. The pp who commented about her killing the W&L program is correct, the pp about how no assistants want to work with her after a year is correct. Why do you think she is alone this year on the sideline, besides a sub par goalie coach and jv coach.

Bless your heart..

No dog in the fight, but if a rebuild process means losing a big class to multiple players quitting because of the coach, then thiss is a new concept that will be interesting to see how it works out.

The Langley coach was a problem at W-L, sometimes berating the team even after a 10 point victory. Kids have left both programs because of her, as have assistant coaches. Sure, all teams need to rebuild occasionally, but that job is easier if the coach is at least somewhat likable. Coaching high school is not just about X’s and O’s, it’s about motivating and making the sport enjoyable.

Prediction is Langley at just a game over 500 for the season and knocked out in the first or second stage of regionals. They are not a threat at all

I dare you to try coaching a high school girls lacrosse team. Parents have no idea the sacrifices and time coaches make to coach a team and to get paid pennies. Ungrateful and hateful toxic parent at its finest.

The jerk parents must have had laryngitis or finally got put in their place. A few parents in particular seem to find it appropriate to coach from the sideline, make rude comments about players, or laugh when a player on an opposing team makes a mistake. Good to hear that they didn't show that side during the Yorktown game.

Sounds like you summed up the Yorktown parents perfectly. Gotta love when they scream Wheels or want a foul called on every play.

Not saying there aren't critiques to be made of Yorktown parents, but pretty sure the comment about "jerk parents" was referring to the Centreville parents.
