Im 5'8" and I once dated a nice, charismatic, athletic guy who was 5'4".

The man I married is my height who told me he had been passed over by women who said he wasn't tall enough. I feel bad that he was hurt, but Im glad he was still single when I met him. He is absolute awesome husband and dad & the love of my life.

You don't need to date all the girls OP. Just the right one.

I’m a tall woman so I feel your pain— lots of men don’t want a 5’10 woman. Just be honest. Sure, a 5’10 woman probably isn’t a match, but there are tons of women around your height and shorter.

Some women are going to rule you out based on height. Others won't. I'm 5'8 (woman) and don't care about height.

Guys, if you prefer petite women, do you consider at all that your kids will likely be short (at least, much shorter than you)?

Why would I give a damn so long as they are healthy, and they’re happy in life, stuff like that? They’re not dying, they don’t have some permanent condition from covid. Height. Good Lord.

I wonder if this makes it even harder for the short guys to find someone - petite women seem to get snatched up by the taller guys, and average/tall women want to date men at least as tall as they are.

6’2” guy here. I love shorter girls. 4’11”- 5’6”? Perfect! For some reason the hugs are just better.

I’ve mostly somehow ended up dating girls 5’7” to 5’9” though. I dated one woman who was 5’4” and loved it.

I know a number of shorter guys who have gorgeous wives. Two of them that I’m thinking of off the top of my head - their wives are both taller and beautiful.

The advice I heard years ago was “Let women think of their own reasons not to f*** you. Don’t do it for them.”

Interesting to read about all the tall guys who like short girls.

This has not been my experience at all but I believe it's cultural. My H is a tall WASP and I'm the shortest woman he's ever dated - I'm 5'7, so pretty average. My brother is 6'3 and he's always dated really tall women; his wife is 5'11. We're Eastern Europeans. My boys are tall and, so far, have been dating only tall, athletic girls.

Short DW here married to a tall DH - I asked him this, and he said it didn't register. He loved me and wanted to spend the rest of his life with me. Everything else could be dealt with.

Our kids are average/short but not super short height (teens and still growing). And actually, he's glad they are not really tall because things can be difficult for him - cars, airplane, counters, clothing, etc. The world is not built for short or tall people It's built for average sized people.

OP, there are plenty of women out there for whom height is not a dealbreaker. Don't be insecure about it, definitely don't lie about it, and you will find your person.

I have acne. I've had it my whole life. The actual acne calmed down a bit when I took accutane in my 20s, but I still get regular breakouts, plus I have scars. For some guys, that would probably be a dealbreaker.
But I have an amazing, hot husband who thinks I'm beautiful and doesn't care that much about whether my skin looks nice without concealer.

It's all preferences and priorities.
