Totally fine. I’m Jewish and I know a lot of male Ariel’s. Female is usually Ariella.

No. Big Disney association. It's in their theme parks, Disney on Ice, music, stores, Halloween costumes, stuffed animals, books, and shows. You can't escape it.

I’m not Jewish and I’ve only know a couple guys named Ari and one Ariel. I think it’s a great name with a strong meaning and I like the alliteration. It fits with your heritage and you always have the option of using the nickname Ari if it becomes burdensome.

I think it’s great but I’m Jewish and send my kid to Day School. You could do Aryeh (lion) and do nn Ari.

If you aren’t Jewish I would skip Ariel and just use Ari. Good luck!

Oddly enough - Ariel and Ari are two separate names - not nicknames! Though I do think it could work as a NN in the US.

My friend’s son legally changed it because he was bullied and teased about his name. It has turned into a girl name like Lauren and Kelley has.
