Agreed, they are the ones taking such great care of your kid, but if we start giving them perks like working in a corporate environment, hey- why is your nanny not in a corporate world, or why don't we stay home and take care of our babies?
Unfortunately, the expectations and standards are set so high to begin with and they get to reap the benefits of that.
Either you can afford a nanny or you can’t. You can’t. It’s that simple.

MB here. That is pretty minimal, if you must know, pp. There are many nannies that get twice the time off you are providing.
DP but if I could live without childcare for that many weeks per year, I wouldn’t need a nanny.
There are lots of wealthy families who hire nannies and give them weeks/months off.
What does money have to do with it? We make nearly $1mm/year. We make that by working. That’s why we have a nanny.
If you meant “people who don’t work” there must not be *that* many idly wealthy people hiring nannies or I could never hire.

If you want a nanny when you get back then you pay her every single week, just like you get paid every week by your employer! Cheap people like you are penny wise and pound foolish and you're probably paying way under par so your won't be keeping any nanny very long.

That’s my job. So far this year I’ve worked 6 months and I’ve had 4 months off (3 months and now 1 month.) going back next week but will have off 1 week at thanksgiving and 2 weeks at Christmas and nye.
Paid the whole time. They choose not to need me that’s on them

Yes of course. It’s called guaranteed hours. YOU are choosing to go away that’s not the fault of your employee.
Now if you don’t want to pay her fine - she can get another position those weeks you’re gone and when you’re back she can CHOOSE if she want to come back.
