What is the point of the trip? If it is just to catch up as old friends could he come to where you guys are and stay at a hotel? Just seems like a ton of effort from your wife. Toddlers come with a lot of gear on vacation.

If my wife was going to f——- someone other than me she wouldn’t be telling me about it. I wouldn’t be thrilled about it but I do trust her. If I didn’t know her male best friend I would be concerned that he might try something and I’d have to kill him. If I knew him he’d know what would happen if he tried something.

My husband has had a girl friend from when he was about 5 years old and 40+ years later they are still great friends and she and I are now very good friends. Two years ago they drove across the country together (why is irrelevant) and I was fine with it. She is like a sister to him and she was one of my bridesmaids because he doesn’t have a sister. They had a ton of fun and they’d Facetime me and our kids every night. My mother was aghast that I was okay with it. Obviously I trusted both of them.

Pp here - you’re giving me ideas! I’d love to go back to England, where my friend now lives, and DH doesn’t really like to travel. Between Covid and traveling with small kids I wouldn’t do it now, but maybe in a year or two I should take them to visit my friend! (I also have a cousin who lives near my friend.) DH would be welcome, but I could imagine him being more excited for some quiet time at home.
