Are you stating that the SOLs improved? Or at least stayed even?
It’s so cute that the same parents who, pre-covid, whined about SOL testing and how much time it takes and that it’s not worth it are now up in arms as if it’s the only metric that ever mattered.

I worked 6 days per week last year. I also spent over $1000 preparing my home for distance learning, so this bonus will help pay back a little of that cost.
This. Spent so much of my own money on office supplies and technology resources to deliver quality virtual instruction last year.

If you go to Loudoun you will get two years of step increases right upon hiring.
What is their maximum entry step?
I just looked at their pay scale. I didn’t see a maximum entry step stated, but I assume there is one.
Does anyone know of the step is the same as years experience? Looks like FCPS pays more at the upper end of the scale.

Maybe you were the exception, and if so, that I applaud you. But many, many of your teacher kinsfolk weren't and learning suffered greatly across the board.

Not to mention that those of you working 60-80 hour weeks get paid far more than teachers. My husband works one of those crazy jobs…and makes 5x what I do.
