Not at all. My DD’s team benefitted more from the non-calls, and it boosted their margin of victory. However, I thought the results flattered my DD’s team, they did not play well for large stretches of a couple scrimmages, and they may be in for a rude awakening when there are refs who will disallow some of their goals and call some of these fouls.
How many scrimmages did they have?
It’s a balance between letting them play and calling things to keep them honest in scrimmages.

Not if you're entire team isn't at the game. People are still on vacation and will miss games because they don't count.

Preseason tournaments can absolutely be assessed. It is a baseline of where the team is currently and can be used to measure progress during the season. Results show you stink or if you're good in the beginning of the season. Say what you want about scrimmages and friendlies.

Coach here. I wouldn't start assessing performance until league games begin. Preseason tournaments, scrimmages and friendlies are just to get ready for the season and coaches are trying things out with their teams. Columbus Day tournaments and performance will definitely be a measuring stick.

Yes, 08 GA in our area seems to look stronger this far. But let’s just be clear about something. 2008 is the only year GA is stronger. Also, we have no idea what Bethesda, FCV, or Virginia Union look like.
There’s light years difference physically b/n a sophomore and an eighth grader. Tying a team that’s fully through puberty is pretty impressive.
They were 07 teams, not 06.
They lost to PAC 07 Gold - definitely an upset. The other team game though wasn’t played, it was called due to lightening after about 5 minutes.
It wasn't 5 minutes more about 30 min
It was about 16 mins and loudoun had numerous chances other team couldn’t get out of their own half.

This game played 8 minutes and was cancelled for lightening
Interesting that one parent blamed new kids and the absence of a starting midfielder and never mentioned lightning when that would have been easier to justify.
VDA promises to be a fun sideline this year.
