Np. At 14 my overprotective parent let me go to a concert with friends after much argument. He drove us there, walked to the entry and stood there for hours until we came out.
I never told him that as my friends and I were walking up the stairs to our seat, an older guy in his early twenties put his hand up my skirt and inserted his finger into my vagina (painfully), removed his hand and laughed with his friend all within a matter of seconds. My friends didn't see what he did. I was too naive and shocked to tell security. I never told my dad and I never will.

A dark concert hall full of thousands of strangers isn't a place for a 14 year old girl.

Huh? I was in HS in late 80s/early 90s. No chance my parents would have let me go to a concert (other than a county fair type scene) wo parents.

My issue is never the venue, itself (they have security; I trust my daughter not to get into a bad situation in a very crowded place) but how you're going to get there/home.

Dd's friends do a lot of concerts and take Uber home and I've never allowed that and hate the idea. I let her go to concerts sometimes and I pick her and her friends up after but it's a real pain (the only way that Covid *improved* my life) haha.

I an a different poster but in that case it should be fine to watch them walk towards the venue. The street outside is usually very safe and if you are worried about your kid dotching a concert to get a few hours on the town that’s an entirely different problem.

Safe when we were kids is very different than safe now as we didn't really know if an issue happened as there was not social media like there is now.

Just go with them and get seats a few rows away or get law seats and sit a bit behind them.

No, its not but keep telling yourself that. And, an indoor concert with covid is asking for trouble. Clearly you haven't been to many concerts.
