What about staff and central office? Hutchings is always leading from behind.

Sorry, I was imprecise. It looks like the vaccination/testing requirement applies to all ACPS staff.

It may be time ACPS folds into Arlington. We just end up doing what they do anyway, SROs, snow days, etc. I guess we did not add all the non-christian holidays like APS, but you know that is coming soon. Arlington not perfect of course, but ACPS (and council) leadership seem to be asleep at the switch.

Why weren’t these issues discussed and voted on over the summer rather than days before the start of this school year? What on earth have they been doing this whole time?!?!

From Hutchings social media he’s been at equity conferences and hanging out with Maxine Waters.

“Equity” and “Maxine Waters” in one post! Wow, if only you’d used “woke” I’d have had Conservative Strawman Bingo.

But, I would think Dr. Hutchings’ priority would be ensuring the safety of his students and staff and might want to inform the public about the important new information that will be shared at Thursday’s meeting rather than wishing happy birthday from a congresswoman from California.

Well the post was accurate, you are the one using strawman argument.

Here's the contact form for the school board if you want to add your voice about requiring vaccination for teachers.

What's your point? Teachers are returning

The point is they are returning even if not vaccinated.

Oh wonderful! I hope that an unvaccinated teacher, who had the option to receive the vaccine, will return and work with my five year old, who has no choice in the matter.

Calm down and stop making teachers the enemy - most teachers are vaccinated. This is just an added layer of protection to keep everyone safe.

Yes I bet they will announce a vaccine madate/testing here. Does superintendant recommend it and school board votes to approve?

I suspect that would be the process if ACPS is going to proceed with a vaccine mandate.
