What if you stayed nearby but in sperate accommodations and just visited outside?
It was never low risk for unvaccinated kids.

This. They are behaving unsafely. But so are you, by agreeing to the trip. You are the mom. You can say no. You are putting your unvaccinated kids on a plane and then having your kids stay in a house with unvaccinated kids. There is no way I would put my kids in this position.

This whole unvaccinated argument is moot. Everyone transmits the virus if exposed regardless of vax status. Yes the unvaccinated are allowing it to spread more rapidly, but if you Mom get it, you can also spread to your kids. It's not JUST the unvax spreading it. You also put your kids at risk. Have everyone test before the trip and move forward. Or don't go. Period.

Hi Family,
We love you all very much but unfortunately, we are not going to be coming to the family trip. Feel free to use your room since we aren't able to cancel it.
When we planned the trip, we thought the COVID situation would be very different, and we also held out hope everyone would be vaccinated. We have consulted with our pediatrician and doctors and will be taking their advice not to travel and stay with unvaccinated people. We are not sorry for that stance, but we are sorry we didn't think to communicate this sooner.
Grandma and Grandpa, we hope you have a wonderful time and we would love to see you X dates at Y location.
We hope you all consider wearing masks to protect yourselves and others: a mild case of COVID is not good, and hospitalization still occurs in vaccinated people. We are worried about you all, especially, BIL and SIL.
Love,
Us

Got it.
Child will be wearing a mask on the airplane, not wearing a mask sharing food, eating and living with the family. 2 different scenarios!
