This is my exact understanding of the hierarchy but, looking at the brackets U13 and above, it seems that EDP Premier starts at Premier III. Am i misreading the brackets? As far as I can tell, what is called Premier I and II belong to the USYS Conference. They are followed by Premier III and IV, which are part of the Premier League. EDP Championship then starts over with Championship I, II, III and so on.

I feel like that lasted a year and then disappeared. The top teams in U12 last year played regular EDP Premier I.

So is that the order top to bottom?

Yes from most competitive to least starting at U13 and up.
For U12 and below the top is EDP Premier I, II, etc., followed by EDP Championship I, II, etc.

Top U12 in this area is Atlantic Development League. No idea why they call it something different. But they do.

Thanks for all the links but I still don't understand.

The original link posted is EDP League brackets
https://www.edpsoccer.com/page/show/6558195-2021-fall-brackets

What is the difference between that above and the South Atlantic Championship brackets?
https://system.gotsport.com/org_event/events/4877/teams?showall=groups

There are fewer teams in the second link and more of the top teams are there.

USYS is more competitive and normally has showcase/tournament weekends built in to the schedule = less need for tournaments but more travel.

EDP league is a more geographical league but is also competitive.

Furthermore EDP manages this region's USYS "national league" conference. https://www.edpsoccer.com/usys-edpconferences

Looks like EDP (an entity based in NJ) manages 4 of the 13 USYS national league conferences.

+1

If your team in USYS Premier I/II performs well, they will gain entry into USYS National League. Promotion at its finest!!
