You could by asymptomatic and still have allergies. It's not a one or the other.

You may not have said there wouldn't be masks, but you also didn't say there WOULD be. The +1 poster I was originally replying to put ALL the burden on immunocomprised people to protect themselves. But my point is it needs to be a community effort. There are SO MANY posts in this thread and other of vaccinated people who don't want to go back to wearing masks because... they just don't want to?
I don't make the rules. I wear a mask when I'm supposed to and don't when it's not required. You can't say on one hand it's a "community effort" when you don't seem to care much about the majority of the community because you think you have the right to never be sick.

This is why I wish the IS would institute a test and trace program like the UK has. Everyone who wants to is sent two free home covid tests to do a week.

The world isn’t really doing anything to allow immunocompromised people to stay home. My cousin is a nurse in a hospital dialysis unit. She works with very ill people who are waiting for transplants. Many of them can’t even get social security disability so they could stay home and NOT live in poverty. One of her patients was working until the day before she was admitted and is worried that if she survives a kidney transplant, she will return home to an eviction as the moratorium is ending.

Exactly. There's nothing to get mad about. Just TEST, and go on with your life if it's negative, and isolate if it's positive. End of story. This should be automatic by now.

We will probably get our annual flu shots in early August, so that we are protected till maybe December or Jan. One family member had J&J vaccine so we will see if they can get the pfizer booster shot. Maybe time to get addtional booster shots too....
What? No school until next March? Is that a typo. My kids were in school all last year. Schools have been opened are opening this fall delta or no delta. Hopefully it will retreat like it did in England and India.
