+1. At some point it’s the most at risk people that need to protect themselves. They need to stay at home, avoid crowds and indoor places. We can’t hide for ever. If you are at risk, wear your masks, don’t meet up with friends, etc.
I have no pre existing condition and I don’t really know anyone that does (perhaps not aware)…
God this is such a selfish point of view. The immunocomprised should just continue to live like hermits so the rest of us can go back to "normal"? The more the rest of the world does go back to normal, the harder it becomes for the immunocomprosed to stay safe. Eff you.
DP, but I find your attitude profoundly selfish - expecting the rest of the world to accommodate you, and to care more about your health than you. Only you can protect you. You can live a pretty normal life if you wear a kn95 anywhere.
How long should children miss out on their educations, social lives, activities to accommodate people who have already had their lives? Maybe PP should think about children or people other than herself for once. She can stay home but wants to shop in Target without all those pesky dirty children around. The irony of the selfish calling others selfish.
This shit all over again!! It's selfish to want you to wear a tiny bit of cloth over your face so people don't die?? Immunocomprosed people still need to work, to eat, to go to doctor's appointments (and go to school!), etc. - and every one of you who refuses to wear a mask, or goes out while sick, because you "did your part by getting vaccinated, that's enough now," is complicit in making it harder for those people to live their lives and not get sick. Do you also refuse cars with airbags because you wear your seatbelt?
Where did I say there wouldn't be masks? Do you also refuse to read posts before responding? I wonder what all these "immunocomprised" people did before 2020. How's your rampant and unchecked anxiety going?
You may not have said there wouldn't be masks, but you also didn't say there WOULD be. The +1 poster I was originally replying to put ALL the burden on immunocomprised people to protect themselves. But my point is it needs to be a community effort. There are SO MANY posts in this thread and other of vaccinated people who don't want to go back to wearing masks because... they just don't want to?

I've had my family tested numerous times for coughs and sniffles and its never been Covid. There are still other viruses out there. Sorry, just not buying this one.
Oh wow, you are just so smart and perceptive. "I don't have covid, so someone else doesn't either. They must be making that up."

Anonymous wrote:Conversely, my son's very bad allergies are allergies. We went and received a Covid test though, and the doctor said she's had a lot recent of negative Covid tests that turn out to be colds or allergies. She still recommends testing (and vaccination) if there is a question.

Anonymous wrote:We are cautious and we are still masking, social distancing, not meeting people indoors etc. We are all vaccinated.
We will probably get our annual flu shots in early August, so that we are protected till maybe December or Jan. If COVID continues rising then we will be working from home anyways so we are not worried about what happens beyond Jan. I was expecting that schools would not open till March 2022...so I am mentally prepared.
One family member had J&J vaccine so we will see if they can get the pfizer booster shot. Maybe time to get addtional booster shots too....

I don't know what to think about it, but a year and a half of lockdowns in Canada did not work. It scared the population out of their minds, my friend won't hand out inside, eat on a patio for fear of covid! Vaccinated with Moderna all in her family.
But she gave me a bowl of strawberries she cut! So I guess she is only worried about me infecting her? I am also fully vaccainted.
I suspect elections are looming and people, even timid Canadians had enough. Though, their enough has no limits, tbh!

I agree.
I also agree. It's just a mild cold if you got vaccinated. If you didn't get vaccinated then that's on you. Let the Delta variant spread faster and burn out I say!
