I don’t get all these people who liked lockdown. I have a sfh with a big yard. I was doing virtual teaching from home which sucked. Filling up prisons would make the pandemic worse. And why discourage low risk outdoor activity at all? Sun and fresh air keep you well. Access to the outdoors is our birthright as living beings.


Especially when they released or refrained from jailing the actual criminals in many areas.


Newsflash! If you are violating a lockdown/stay-at-home order YOU ARE AN ACTUAL CRIMINAL!

I’d much rather see some petty thief or drug dealer released to make room for people who are out spreading a deadly contagious illness.

Local governments don’t have the power to ban me from crossing state lines to engage in interstate commerce, and other states don’t have the power to prevent me from crossing their borders.

The supposed stay at home orders were nothing more than suggestions.

It is very hard on senior citizens, as well, especially those who live alone.

In my talks with friends and acquaintances, it seems the people who liked the lockdown are working professionals, and got to telecommute from home. They told me they were busy all day with work - zoom calls, emails, projects, etc., - and then were fine with a walk in the evening and dinner. Retired people living alone were miserable, and of course schoolkids suffered immensely.

I’m a nanny and I liked it because I got paid a lot more. I hope next year we are remote until 2022, so I can pay off the last of my student loans! I made an extra 14k in lockdown and put it all on my loans.

a) A person who violates the stay-at-home order by driving into the country (for no real purpose other than to get out of the house), stopping in some little strip shopping center, and strolling around outside, or
b) A person who steals an old lady's Iphone

Full disclosure: I was person A, violating Northan's order that we were only allowed to drive to the pharmacy, grocery, or medical office for necessary trips.
