Another former Bowie resident — I agree with many PP that the location is great, parks are great, city services are good, shopping is convenient. We did find the restaurants to be disappointing and often went into Annapolis or DC to eat out. (It seemed like the good ones just got driven out by chains). We also didn’t like the private school culture—prefer a neighborhood with most kids going to the local school so they all know each other.

Who is the builder? Have they broken ground. I tried looking it up and wasn’t able to find much. Something seems sketchy.

This is us too. We just moved from this area (Silverbrook) to DC. Couldn’t navigate the politics or school system so we sold last year.

True, but these ones are on a whole new level.
50s ramblers, 70s split-levels, 1980s colonial revival (I live in one) all look dated.
But at least they look like homes. Once a house looks dated, they don’t become exponentially more dated as the years to on and at least I did not pay a “new house” premium to get mine. These modern farmhouses are a big mistake

I'm black and recently moved from "rezoned" Bowie, pretty much Lanham/Glenarden. Bowie is nice if you want a big house and that's it. Id rather live elsewhere in a townhouse then a SFH in Bowie. To someone else's point, we ended up spending a lot of money traveling to go to shopping, eating out, even just for a nice walk. Now that we have a child, schools are important and subpar schools for all of that money in my opinion isn't worth it. Maybe it's just marketing fluff by the developer. Looking at the site plan on the website, there are many roads that lead to the houses, so I'm not sure how any single gate can keep people out. Also, that picture of the gate is laughable -- it looks like any car could easily just drive around it. I know it's just a rendering, but it's pretty funny that they presented it that way.

I am guessing the developer will just install some useless gate to live up to the marketing hype, then the HOA will get rid of it later once it breaks down or proves to be useless.

By the way, according to the site plan, it looks like these homes are selling pretty well.
