I’m definitely a much better driver than most people. I haven’t gotten a speeding ticket in over a year and I haven’t had a crash since 2015, so I think my record speaks for itself. And if someone like me has trouble backing up, I’d think most other people do as well.
No. I would hope most good drivers do not have this problem. I also think the average good driver hasn’t had a speeding ticket in about 3 to 5 years or more. I’m a very good driver and I can back into a space in two quick motions even if someone is behind me,
If you have to back into a space, I’d say that pretty much proves you’re a below average driver. It means you’re incapable of backing out.
Yep, 100% this. The people I see backing are a bunch of tiny women driving giant SUV's that are obviously terrified of backing out and hitting someone/something. There's nothing wrong with backing into a space but if you do it on a ramp inside a parking garage, you're an A-hole.

Umm, this is the Huntsman Square shopping center in a middle-of-nowhere section of West Springfield. The probability that there was nowhere else to park at any given time is zero. The numerous surrounding vacant spaces in that very photo should be a giveaway.
But I get it, parking is hard when you're that close to Starbucks.

It’s not subject to opinion or debate, or your feelz. Professional drivers, and people who drive like professional drivers, back in. It’s safer. Period. It’s been studied extensively by both insurance accuracies and the DOT. That’s why it’s REQUIRED for operators of large commercial vehicles.

It’s not subject to opinion or debate, or your feelz. Professional drivers, and people who drive like professional drivers, back in. It’s safer. Period. It’s been studied extensively by both insurance accuracies and the DOT. That’s why it’s REQUIRED for operators of large commercial vehicles.
Enough of this absurdity already. The horse is dead. Backing in is the proper way to park.
