We are back to normal. Entire family is vaccinated. Three long vacations planned through November, two of them are in Europe. Seeing family constantly. Eating out mostly outdoors but will switch indoors if the heat warrants it. I will be held hostage to this virus no longer. Because I’m vaccinated.

We are out and about, leave for an international vacation in a few days via plane. I'm not one to get caught up in talking about the variant, but kinda concerned that if we don't enjoy the summer this Delta variant may give us a not so fun fall and winter. I can't see the USA/others locking back down, but ya never know.

Yeah I know a couple families still like this too- they are bitter and I've had to disengage a bit and not really say anything we do in text exchanges. We'll see them on the other side, whenever that may be.

+1. Was just visiting family in upstate NY and same there. 5yo DS was like, "the germs must be all gone here!" Then we come back to DMV and it's back to outdoor masks at summer camp.

It is. I'm in south florida. Everyone I know is vaccinated- family, neighborhood friends, school parents etc. No one has worn masks outdoors in a long time. I stopped wearing masks in stores 2 weeks ago.
I believe in the science.

I’m in Mass. Been to the Cape, Nantucket and Maine over last 6 weeks. Back to normal up here.

Can’t wait for the Fourth parade and fireworks!

I was up in Michigan for a funeral and it's back to normal there. It was eye opening and a relief.

We just had an outdoor bday party for our son, inviting just his classmates. We are still banned by OSSE from traveling outside of the DMV on weekends and sending our kids back to school without quarantine and testing. We have no leave due to school closures, so we are staying put.

We are making up for lost time! Hosting big parties and traveling like crazy this summer. No masks, either.

Lighten up, people. It's fine. Really.

We are living life like we used to. I’m slightly concerned with a cross country flight for our family this summer, but will double mask with r95s.

+1 The Delta variant may become a problem here, but we don't know for sure. With possible restrictions looming in the fall, why not live this summer while rates are low and we are vaccinated?

+1. Things can absolutely change and quickly. But for now, being around here is pretty safe and catching covid takes some effort. Let your kids enjoy close to a normal summer.

We have flown with our unvaccinated 10 year old and plan on going to Universal in July. The studies are out there which show that Covid19 is not a significant health risk to the under 12 crowd. They do get sick, but it's typically mild.

The case rates are low in most of the DMV. She still wears her mask but the rest of us are vaccinated.

I guess I don't understand why people are still locked down. We don't lock down for other childhood illnesses of the same severity.
