We have to hire private protection. We have a huge homeless issue due to the weather and a lot of services for homeless that attract homeless from out of state, and they keep setting fires. People who are running from the cops infiltrate there, and gangs come in and charge them for "protection." All is financed by theft.
There is a recall campaign for our councilman, Mike Bonin, who wants to put homeless pods on the beach (among all other drug, theft, and violence-related problems, the beach is the only place where the public goes barefoot, and my DD stepped on a needle a few months back. A month or so ago, there was a cleanup in a local park that had turned into a homeless encampment, and they found 30 pounds of needles. I can't remember the numbers on the human waste, but it was like, tons.
Anyways I miss the police and military presence of Arlington and DC, and I liked how VA was purple because it keeps the politicians from getting complacent.

Hahah Hahahahahaha I love that you’re getting homeless pods!!! Do you think they all belong in the valley? I’m sure you do!!! I chortled with glee when there was talk about the tiny villages we have to deal with in the vary going to Venice and the palisades. Seems fair to me!

Dude. A lot of people live in the valley, even including celebrities, athletes, coaches and scores of hard working people who work in entertainment. I assure you that most people on DCUM would also live in the Valley if they lived in LA.
The Valley isn’t “LA”. Especially Van Nuys and Sherman Oaks. LA is Hollywood, the Hills, Beverly Hills, the beach, even downtown. The Valley is a different culture and class.
Omg, all of these DMV people opining on LA is….”lol”
OF COURSE Sherman Oaks is part of the City of Los Angeles. Do you live under a bridge?! Do you know what’s NOT Los Angeles? Beverly Hills. West Hollywood. Santa Monica .
Sherman Oaks is 💯 LA.
And it’s not exactly a shit box. It’s a fairly nice area. Most people here could not afford a home in Sherman Oaks. Yes, it’s hot in the summer.
You’re being to literal, PP, and calm down. Of course Sherman Oaks is in the city of Los Angeles. We’re saying it’s not quintessential Los Angeles.
And I do live in LA and not DC. And no one uses “lol” anymore (at least not in LA - maybe they do in the Valley).
You are what gives people on the Westside a bad name. If you think “quintessential” LA is pacific palisades or Brentwood then…you really don’t know LA as well as you think.

Oh, OP. Sherman Oaks isn’t even Los Angeles much less Southern California.
news to me! I used to live in Sherman Oaks. I guess sending my tax $$ to city of Los Angeles, sending my kids to LAUSD, voting for the LA mayor and city council...that was all just a figment of my imagination, huh.

We don't care that you don't wear a mask and stop with the treads about it troll.
MYOB
You sound like an idiot bible thumper who has never read it.

The pandemic is over Amy. Time to unwrap your face and crawl out of the basement. Wearing a mask now means you don’t trust Joe and deny the science. Is that what you want people to think of you?
OP- it’s cooler on the LA-side of the mountain. The ocean breezes usually keep it about 10-20 degrees cooler than in the SF valley.

You are in a very high-class part of Cali.
I would imagine that many people would just kill to live there.
