Subject: southern Californians aren’t as into the virtue signaling yard signs as people in the DC area

Bonin is an idiot. Please vote to recall him if you are in his district. We would love to but moved from Playa del Rey years ago and hate what he’s dne there.

Homes are more spread out. As you said, but didn’t recognize, look at the masks. That’s their “virtue signaling”. That and every stupid diet under the sun. They also own less, and on the whole, SoCal is politically inactive (minus Hollywood) than NorCal.

Don't be dumb, our beaches are getaways for everyone in the Valley too. I don't think homeless "belong" in the Valley. I don't care if they are on the Westside; I DO care if they are at the beach. WTF are we doing living in this mismanaged expensive congested city if not for access to the beach?

Weirdest thread I've read here - I grew up East of DTLA, lived in Los Feliz for years, lived in Westwood for years and now live in the valley (for years).
1. The valley IS Los Angeles

4. The only sign I've ever put in my front yard was a *gasp* 6th grade graduation sign that DC's school sent to all of the kids this time last year
Yeah it's dry here, welcome to obvious-ville. We have droughts and fires in the summer and mudslides (IF it rains - this last winter it rained for maybe a week combined when the world first shut down and that was it) in the winter. I'll take it over living anywhere else in the world, I love my home.

I agree. I’m from DC but moved to LA years ago, and wish LA was “purple” as well. I personally am a Democrat, but not the type of Democrat that makes excuses for inept politicians or homeless encampments or filth and crime.
As for police presence, I agree. I chuckled at OP’s observations about freeway drivers. As much as people are giving OP a hard time, I actually thought he/she was accurate.

OP- it’s cooler on the LA-side of the mountain. The ocean breezes usually keep it about 10-20 degrees cooler than in the SF valley.

It’s actually a very nice area. I used to live in the palisades and West Hollywood, but I love that there is always parking in the valley and people are normal. I’m not in the ‘rich’ part or the ‘area for the poors’, but the in between place where people are welcoming and there are lots of immigrants (like me).
