My oldest of 4. My second son... oooh he's a challenging porcupine. I think my husband was the same in his family so his parents were shocked he would pair up. We will be delighted if he finds a mate, whereas NO ONE will ever be deserving of my eldest...

FTR one has a host of SNs, and that has no impact on my case. I am sympathetic, however, to the PP whose some is ASD and violent (and as I read her post maybe incapable of giving or receiving love). That would be unimaginably painful, and would surely test limits of what I’ve said above.


Same. I love mine equally and fully, but they’re fairly easy kids. My patience and love would be tested daily if I had a violent kid. Sending peace and sympathy to that PP.

I have three and genuinely don’t have a consistent favorite. I have favorite activities/times with each of them, though. I love when I get one-on-one time with each of them and aim for at least 15-30 mins of one on one time with each, each day.

+1 different genders, completely different personalities. Each with pros and cons. My older child is sort of “perfect” and generally less exhausting but a bit rigid, the younger more of a pita but also incredibly funny and charismatic, more adventurous.

I have one son but two cats. We've had many discussions about which cat is the favorite. They do puke sometimes but never talk back. So yes, often preferable to a human kid.

Depends on what’s going on. If I am in the mood for some snarky intellectual take on the current events - my oldest. Feel like a relaxing day out hitting some thrift shops and then lunch - my middle. Craving a hug - my youngest because she is the most huggable at this point.

I don’t have a favorite. I don’t care if you don’t believe me. I truly love them both so much. And they each have different stages of difficulty, but I don’t LOVE them any less or more.

It should be obvious. I am not pp but every child deserves to be loved and treated well by their parents. Imagine Harry Potter was sibling to Dudley instead of cousin. How would you like being treated like Harry? Did no favors to Dudley either.
