I work at UMD. We don’t have merit-only scholarships that cover this much. A person has to qualify for this much aid on financial grounds, even with our merit awards. They are income limited.
Exactly. My kid got full tuition as merit aid, which is around 10-12K a yr for IS students BTW. A very good strategy by UMD to sweep up the magnet students and enhance the prestige of their CS and Eng dept.
You are misinformed. The Banneker-Key scholarship actually does cover room, board, and a book allowance in addition to full tuition. I know this personally because a family member received it.
