CON if backing right to it because of robberies/crime but like others said if a small bit of distance then pro.

Con. I don’t want voyeurs, rapists, and drunk teenagers behind my house.

Con. On weekends available parking will likely become non-existent. That's how it is for the houses abutting trails in NW D.C.

It really depends on how close and populated the trail is.

But in general, if there is a trail, that means green space that is public. And if you have a smaller property, that adds value

I'd entertain it only if the elevation of the trail was below the elevation of the house. I would have no problems with my property backing to a trail, but I would not want strangers on a trail being able to gaze at windows.

I would love to be on a trail. In fact, I really want that in a future home.

I love it. It was the reason we purchased our house and never regretted it. In fact, visitors always comment on how lucky we are.

We back up to a public trail. It's actually just a neighborhood trail. We love it! We have a swing under our deck that we like to sit on and wave at people. My kids love to walk along the trail and it leads to a favorite playground. Our old dog loved to people watch all day (he didn't bark)

I think it helps that my house is on a hill and the trail is on our basement level. So my deck and family room are raised and people can't see in my windows.

I've backed to three in my lifetime and have loved it everytime.

I think it would be a pro. I love going on the W&OD trail and I love to people watch.

I walk on the Sligo Creek Trail sometimes and think there it could be a plus because the houses are so far on a hill up from the trail or otherwise removed that people can't really see into your house.
