This family always did a suspiciously large amount of pap walks.

Typical divorced dysfunctional family dude looking for a family/creating one he never had. They look to marry stable women from good, happy families.

Problem is in midlife all of that dysfunction and trauma from childhood rears it’s head and they are broken and lonely inside looking to fix that by escaping through addictions or other women. Temporary band aids that make them spiral further down while breaking up their families in the process.

Love bombing, narcissist. Playboy. Smart with a danger streak.

She has said when he turns his light/live in you it’s intense like nothing in the world- but when he cast a shadow it’s a cold cold place.

He comes from a highly dysfunctional family with addictions, divorce. It’s a common trait of adult children that were raised that way.

Since Bennifer got together again I have been on a Ben Affleck kick. I was watching The Way Back and then Jersey Girl yesterday and my goodness! He was so handsome and charming when he was young! Is it bad that now I have a huge crush on him even though I know he’s been terrible in his personal life?

Sounds like that line from “The Talented Mr. Ripley.” I had an ex like that. Nothing can describe the darkness and emptiness the other person makes you feel.

He’s super charming and surprisingly smart. Also very sensitive/romantic/lovey-dovey. He has had a rough time dealing with self esteem and family stuff (but who hasn’t!). He’s a good man, just somewhat troubled (and again, aren’t we all?). I’ve never met Garner, but she seems sweet and was probably swept off her feet.

She fell for co-workers, men she spent a lot of time with - Scott Foley/Michael Varton/Ben Affleck. All co-workers.

Yup. Garner is boring, average, always trying to trade up. Ben is the total package and only getting better. Glad to see him back with someone more of his caliber now.

Jen G is a product of the American culture in which you date and find a person to marry. . Yes, unlike many other cultures there is no arranged marriage and there is no premium put on being chaste and virginal before marriage. So she had sex with the dude and got pregnant, and she chose the biggest star that she could find during that time to have kids with. All very much in keeping with being an American and living in an American culture. Who else could she marry? Scott Foley? Please. These guys were D-list celebs and she was an A-list celeb. It would never last with the fragile male ego.

There is nothing more to it. It was sad that like 50% of all American marriages, this marriage also ended in divorce. Also, the man turned out to be an alcoholic mess and a man-whore. What can you do? The celebs also are just humans like us. Warts, foot fungus, hemorrhoids and all.

Also, Ben Affleck did not stand up against racist attacks against JLo in Bennifer 1.0. So he was not the greatest guy with JLo or with JenG. Still as a fling or FWB for JLo to rub the cheater ARod's face in - he is a good and handy option. They both are single, a-lister, both do not need to get married, both can get good press after their own failed romances and they do not have to have kids with each other.
