I downloaded the file for 2018-19 PARRC Mathematics school level, the file has tabs by grade level and then on each page is a table with the schools and scores. There are numerous configurations of the data.

They did not take it or they took it and did not try? Because these numbers only reflect those that took it.

I don’t know, but my guess is either there is a larger pool of kids that take the geometry test so it reflects a broader range of aptitude/caring about the test and/or perhaps DCPS pushed too many students into advanced math. Even kids doing geometry in 9th grade are on an advanced track.

Thanks, I just went and took a look.

The advanced math kids that took PARCC (not the most advanced, the ones that entered high school taking Algebra II) are very close in their PARCC scores between the schools, with SWW kids having 85% score a 4 or better while 76% of Wilson kids scored a 4 or better. In Geometry, 83% of SWW kids score a 4 or better while only 27% of Wilson kids scored 4 or better, but 55% scored a 3 or better.





Thanks for the data. I’m not surprised Walls is a bit higher given admission criteria. 27% 4 or 5 in Geometry is pretty low. I wonder what is going on there.
