Y’all are too busy thinking about yourself and not the league as a whole and that’s why it doesn’t make sense.
Recruiting budgets is a huge factor. Getting everyone together in a central location is at the request of the recruiters….not you.
What does any of that have to do with playing the showcase in a showcase format so the coaches that spend their budget to go can see the players they want to see? The coaches do not know or care about the results of these games.
Leave the team if your coach is not playing your uncommitted player at a showcase. It’s that easy and exactly what should be done…and from my experience…is exactly what happens.
This is exactly why proper team vs team competition is important. Starting to make sense now?

Oh thank you oh wise one. I will let the northeastern college coaches speaking to my player and complaining about the travel costs and distance to the far flung "showcases" know that it is all for him.

Can’t get any closer unless it’s in VA itself.
The issue is can they please do a real showcase format where the results do not count towards any type of standings.
And so what if they do? The coach does not need to let that affect rostering decisions for uncommitted players. If your coach doesn't play uncommitted players in this event the problem is with your coach not the event.

Champions league is settled. This is a Showcase for girls who aren't committed, which for U15, is all. From U15, it gets larger the number who are committed, but by no means is it a majority at this point, especially post-covid recruitment season.
ECNL got it dead right here. A showcase in NC (out of NJ with odd rules still unsure about masks/distancing) going into playoffs weeks later. Showcase before a tournament is excellent planning. If your kid is in the Champions League, the # of scouts looking will be the most all year by a million miles.... huge. If you are poo-pooing this you have no idea or you're just trolling.
Can u read? I said have at it for U 15 if you want. It is not helpful for the kids that need to get recruited now. Have a real showcase for the older players to play for the coaches. At a minimum do east and west events...and 4 quadrants would make more sense.
Some mid level patriot league program where 90 percent of the kids are from within a few states over need to drag everyone out to california or florida to recruit? it is stupid.
The top kids that want to play for the top D1 programs are already recruited by U 17 so do something that helps the majority that are financing all this.
As long as the college coaches are going and the uncommitted kids are getting the opportunity to play what do you care?
I get it, the travel, but you KNEW this going into ECNL already. Their showcasing has not changed in over a decade. Sorry you don't like it but it is user error, not the league.
