The problem comes in when there are solid almost A level players playing with girls who should be playing rec. But why would any organization turn the money away?!

Most clubs do this as a way to "lock" in players and prevent them from trying out for other clubs. My take is to tell them that you are still making the best decision and that once that is made, you can pay the initial fee/s etc. Pressuring players into paying ASAP is not a good look or tactic and players should be allowed to tryout for different clubs and make the best decision for them without the pressure of having to commit right away without any thought into evaluating options etc. I think as you get older this isn't as prevalent as you are settled into 1 club etc.

The 2022 Midnight team is very strong - they've had a consistent core over many years and a solid coach, but that is it. History is one thing. Present time is another and presently, they are taking a nose dive. And as a PP said, why did they remove all of their coaching (and even team!) information from their website? It's sketchy at a time when basically every other team in the DMV at least lists the names.
Why go to a program that puts your kid into a position to lose by multi-digit goals nearly each and every game? Those Carolina teams are just a money grab at this point. And this is on the leadership, not even coaches, for allowing the teams to be in this position. At least most other clubs treat their 'B' teams with a little decency.
Losing more than winning is one thing. Losing they way they do is another. It is not fair to those kids and parents to constantly travel just to go 0-xxx and maybe score 5-6 goals all tournament.
I totally disagree with your comment about B level teams being a money grab. B level teams exist at all clubs. Those girls would have nowhere else to play if B teams didn't exist, especially in HS. My daughter is on a B-level team at another club and we get beaten alot. By a lot of goals. But we are playing hard teams and I would rather have that than my daughter not playing at all. And don't judge whether it's "fair" or not. The parents on our team are all totally happy - nobody feels like we are getting the bad end of anything. The girls love playing and some of the girls on my older daughter's B team were recruited last year to play d3 and they were thrilled. B teams may not be for you, but they fit the bill for a lot of girls who are not top players and just want to keep playing through HS.

Sadly the midnight ‘22 team is no longer strong. They have fallen apart - word is the uncommitted girls have quit and the team is in disarray. Live love lax was a disaster.
Not sure if you know what you are talking about. 2022 MC was not at that tournament.

Might want to check your facts. Both 22 MCE teams were at Live Love Lax.
And both played badly. It’s really sad. I feel for the girls.
My lacrosse playing daughter is not in high school so I am not that knowledgeable about high school lacrosse, but aren't the 2022s pretty much done as a team after this summer anyway? I thought there was no club lacrosse once they are seniors? This was their last hurrah?
Essentially yes. They may do one tournament in the fall but the majority finish their club lacrosse careers summer before senior year.
However, there are still many more 2022s that are uncommitted so it is still one of their most important summers - especially since they can finally play in front of coaches.
