I would have been ok to adopt number 2 if things didn't work out so we stayed local for that one.

It sucks but I hope will be worth it in the end.


Can you share the out of town clinic or other drs that know how to deal with endometriosis?


I'm not sure that any of them where experts in endometriosis. I did move from Dr. Abassi to Dr. Sacks and he agreed to move forward with a laparoscopy and the endometriosis was on both ovaries and removed (for a while anyway). On a family members urging we had a consult with Dr. Robin Poe-Zeigler at then New Hope fertility in Va. Beach. Now it's CCRM fertility but Dr. Robin is still there. She told me more about my fertility in 20 minutes than my Columbia Fertility doctors had in 1 & 1/2 years AND she was very encouraging about my chances and explained why. And we needed that badly! (We talked to all of the clinics here and went to Shady Grove briefly.) It was an entirely different world. Punctual, supportive. I could call after hours if needed. For us it was the right spot.

I had a 2 kids with Shady Grove at 42 and 43. I was told i could have another at 45 pending a EKG and the normal tests for embryo transfer. Dr said they could work with me until 50 if i wanted.

Ask him what he would do differently, if anything.

I am a current Davis patient, and I find him very thorough. He will have reviewed your chart before you speak and, in my experience, will be honest about the different options and the chance for success with each option.

He will likely recommend day 3 fresh transfers over day 5, particularly if you have been a poor responder.

Have consult with Cornell/Davis next week. Have done 5 unsuccesful cycles locally. Age 42.

What should I be asking during the consult?
