She has BLM banners all over her fence. And not just before it was cool or woke. She’s legit a do gooder. She’s worked on grant programs for years and has been a community volunteer. It’s sad that people are categorizing her as unelectable for being in Open ACPS. She’s an essential worker. Think she might be interested in getting her kids back in school?
Being good at virtue signaling is a reason to elect someone to public office? No.
Really though, like someone else said upthread, her participation in and support of OpenACPS is the only reason we need to not vote for her. I can't think of any sane person who is a member of that group. I don't even think they know what the issues are anymore, they're just a shrieking, toxic mob of idiots.
The issues are the same as they've been for over a year. Kids are not being educated in an appropriate format. ACPS is reluctant or unwilling to follow CDC guidelines. ACPS won't open the schools more than 2 days a week for SOME kids - even though case counts are zero. And the current school board refuses to hold ACPS accountable for any of this. It's absolutely not a bunch of whining - it's a bunch of parents that desperately want and need their children to be educated.
I'm assuming you either don't have kids, have older kids, or are just an insensitive person with zero empathy for the struggles of many.

She genuinely cares about ACPS and the community. We were at the same day care and Bridget stood up for the teachers and a whistleblower with a former director who was ultimately terminated. There were facility issues with the toilets and safety issues when the shooting occurred at the YMCA baseball fields during the Congressional baseball team. Bridget organized parents and spoke on behalf of the whistleblowers. I’m not a fan of Open ACPS but understand why Bridget is a member. She is a former social worker and she was very concerned about kids in ACOS not having adult supervision or access to food. She and her husband are government managers at two agencies working in person in the pandemic.
