Subject: Bill and Melinda Gates Announce Divorce After 27 Years
It's really sad and shocking on one hand, and makes sense on the other.
They have both been open about some of their martial struggles, including her feeling like she has to fight for her role in the foundation, be respected, etc.
He is well-known for being difficult. He "knows" he's right, and is known to yell at employees, be very disrespectful, and show disdain.
Having raised her kids and achieved what she has, it's understandable she's looking to the next phase of her life and enough was enough--she was ready to free herself not to be with someone like him.
