Atheism

I grew up full on Catholic. Catholic school for 12 years, parents on parish council, holy days of obligation etc. Now we are all gone from the Catholic Church. I have one sister who still believes in god and is Presbyterian. The rest of us including my parents are atheists.

Penn state had an abuse scandal a few years back.

Lutheran is Catholic light - very welcoming, more relaxed and less guilt, otherwise service feels like Catholic.
The only thing I miss from the Catholic church is seeing the Mother Mary statues and honor.

Another who went from Catholic to Methodist. I played around with the few different churches. Try to Pisco Palean, Presbyterian, even went to a Baptist type church. Then I found Methodist. Never strayed since then.

It is a made up religion so they can do anything. My father was an OG Episcopalian. Meaning his family was servants of King Henry then 8 when they were forced to convert or lose their heads. I went when I was little at Xmas. Always depressing and long.

I like you can get divorced and don’t even need to go to church.


The Episcopal Christmas service is a lot like the Catholic one, so it would seem depressingly long to you as well.

I don't know how bad I was, but I had that Catholic guilt at an early age. I legit had an out of body experience after my first confession. I felt like I was floating as I made my way up the aisle to kneel and say 10 Our Fathers and 10 Hail Marys. Nothing could ever top that and it was the only confession I ever gave.


Amazing what you can do as a child!! My favorite in kindergarten I slid thumbtacks upside down under teachers seat and man did she jump. Sadly mom put me in Catholic school in first grade
