She (an artist who has her MFA) raves about the quality of Birkins. And she doesn't work for them anymore so no vested interest. Anyways, she has *wild* stories about how entitled & rude some customers were, as well as genuinely touching stories about some celebrities/regulars who made real connections with the staff. It *definitely* will help you to buy a Birkin to establish a connection with a SA you like.
Thank you. Yes it’s more than just about getting the bag and it’s durability. This bag will mark a milestone for me.

They hold their value, and can often result in a higher margin if you sell it than many other investments.
Seriously. I own a B35 and K25 and also send my kids to private school. One of these is much more of an investment than the other!! The private school money is gone forever...
That is sad you think an expensive purse is a better investment than education.
It's sad that you don't understand that private school tuition isn't an investment at all. It's a luxury good, and one that I can never liquidate. Which is fine, I can afford it for my kids and they're having a good experience, but let's do try to be clear-eyed about it.
Maybe you should put them in DCPS instead.
Why? They’re enjoying the luxury experience and I sure appreciate being treated like a client and not like someone in line at the DMV—especially in the pandemic. But it’s very obviously not an “investment.”
You can’t be serious? You really do not realize all the advantages provided by attending a good private school; social connection, education quality, and the opportunities it provides/opens. What advantages in life does a Birkin provide?

Invariably these kinds of posts elicit strong reactions. I will ignore further ignorant posts.
I have a closet full of Hermès ties (that I will probably never wear again and will probably end up at a goodwill one day soon). The lovely lady trashing private education and feeling her handbag is a better investment than her children’s education is EXACTLY why I got the popcorn. Just what I expected and it’s disgusting
