Not true. Many small LAC's in rural areas struggle for diversity and will try hard to recruit your asian child (as they did mine).
The more elite the school, the more difficult the admission...but that is true by definition.
I feel this board obsessed a bit on this topic. Your DC is whatever race they are. There have been and will continue to be pros and cons to that fact. Move on from it.
This. When it comes to college admissions or anything else in life, be practical. If you can get away with not checking the box, don't. Colleges typically can figure out who you are anyways based on parents' names, their birthplace (if first gen), etc.
My Asian DC had no issues getting into a few top state schools including UVA. Likely not going there.
If you feel you were not given a fair shot because of your race, pay it back. Educate your DC on the unfairness of the situation. Teach them to network among their own and take care of their own. For example, when it comes to hiring, hire an Asian over everyone else because they were not given a fair shot with college admissions. That's what the Whites did for the longest time BTW.
