On the off chance that this is not a sock puppet, OP I have news for you: your friend thinks her baby is the cutest baby in the whole world. From reading your posts I can think of a lot more reasons why someone might not want to spend much time with you.

LOL - I find it fascinatingly bizarre that your friend doesn't want to get together with you much anymore and it could be attributed not to 1) she is busy; 2) she has a new baby; 3) she could have major stuff going on that you don't know about with her marriage, her job if she's working, her family, health, other friends etc.; 4) she's decided she doesn't want to hang out with you anymore for a gazillion possible reasons....but that she's JEALOUS because your baby is cuter?? WTF?? I think your post answers your own question on why she doesn't want to hang out with you. And it's got nothing to do with the physical appearances of your babies. UGH. This post makes me extra grateful for my friends.


The English language would benefit from a word to describe people who ascribe envy and jealousy to all those around them. I'll go with self-centered for now.

I would say that 50 percent of young mothers are insanely jealous of people with cuter babies. I can totally see her friend not wanting to avoid her friend and her cuter baby. This is something that will always be in the memory and your friends decision to avoid makes perfect sense. Of course it's not good to dwell on who has the cuter baby but this has been going on since the beginning of time.

There are insecure moms out there-who need constant reminder about how they 1) are accolade-deserving mothers 2) have "perfect" babies that walk on water by 3 mos of age or 3) a combination of 1&2.
The thing is if you truly are a great mother you don't need to announce it to everyone-YOU know it, and that should suffice. Also, if you are a great mom-you will know that every child is special. Yours isnt the ONLY one...
