Yep. DC has similar stats and disadvantages (asian male) as the kid in the video. We adviced against applying to the Ivies. He did apply to a couple and rejected. Rejected at top state schools as well. If you are going to chime in with "what about ECs?" save your breath. Not going to get into the details but he had plenty to account for leadership, well roundedness and pointiness..
Just curious, where did he end up?

Truly sad what this country has become.
I agree. It’s truly sad when someone doesn’t recognize that it’s never been a meritocracy. It’s truly sad when someone doesn’t do their due diligence and understand what their competition looks like.
It’s even sadder if this post was put up by a disaffected adult, exposing this kid to derision due to his spelling errors. I wish him well with his options.

No one is owed an acceptance in a competitive admissions process.
Seriously, there are a million reasons he didn't get into those 10 schools, ranging from just bad luck to writing terrible essays to geographic preference to letting the entitled attitude show through to anything in between.
And this video sure ain't going to help his cause.
+1. For as much time as people spend on these college forums, when will they understand that admission is about more than stats. The tips schools could fill their classes with perfect stats kids several times over? Thanks It’s a lottery among high stats and people with unique accomplishments once the sports and legacy spots are filled.

Or maybe because he did not pay consultants to write and proof his papers. Varsity Blues baby. All the scum are in the top universities now. Asians should boycott Harvard.
I don't agree with the rest of your post, but if nearly no Asians applied to Harvard, because of the way racial balance in admissions works, the Asian acceptance rate would shoot sky high, the way it is at some top LACs.
There are top LACs where the % of asians is below the general population, rendering them URMs. Look at the common data sets of them and find out which ones. You will get a benefit especially if ED.

How do you know that he did not distinguish himself. This is the fuzzy logic sick racists use to discriminate against Asian-Americans. Oh, he must not have a personality or something to distinguish himself...oh, he must be a boring person with no original thought...oh, he only has book knowledge. Meanwhile your ilk produces as asshat like Donald Trump.
He is special. More special than all those hooked individuals who are given admission in the top schools who have nothing of substance to show for themselves.
