I hate this trend. Also, the currently popular boys-for-girls' names are going to date horribly.

It is so very try-hard, OP, as if it never occurred to you that your child will stand out for her achievements, not for some flashy, trendy name.

So I guess I would go with Alexandra, then nn her Alex, or Charlotte, nn Charlie. That way, she can revert to using her traditional name if she wants.

My niece is named Kyle and has always loved her name.

I met an adorable girl named Ellis and have come to love that name more for a boy than a girl.

People who like boy names for girls because they sound "cooler" or "spunky" and people who are worried there will be no names left for boys after girls have tainted them all are two sides of the same coin.
