For a girl? It is a not a great name. Brings mind "Torrid". It doesn't even sound like a name. Use it as a middle name if you must.

I have never seen Bring It On but I am from Socal. Torrance is an awful name. Hard for me to say so bluntly since I’m a nice person. It’s certainly not a girl’s name. Please please please spare your daughter.

I'm absolutely baffled that both you and DH really love this awful "name." You guys must be soul mates.

Name her Torrance Kate or Torrance Jane so she has a name to go by.

It's an awful name, and I'm a big fan of Bring it On. If she ever moves to southern California, people are going to wonder why her parents named her after a random city. It would be like naming your kid "Bethesda." Please find a different name, honestly. It's not a good choice.
