Read it again. We aren't "going" to McLean. We are aligning player pools.

Lorton? Maybe West Springfield HS, Rolling Valley, South Run, and other options.

Hi, I'd like to drive further to Arlington's Long Bridge than SYC's South Run![]()
It would have made more sense for McLean to partner with Vienna or Metro United.
Why would SYC do this instead of partnering with BRYC? McLean is better than BRYC, but SYC would get a lot more players onto the top team at BRYC and the location wouldn't be an issue.

- SYC kids motivation to tryout for McLean
- Talent level of HS girls at SYC and McLean
- Traffic patterns and driving times that are shorter to Springfield than Long Bridge
- VDA/PWSI girls side results/talent level
that I think you're just trolling.
I wish i were trolling...nova soccer is a disaster and these mergers won’t make a difference other than charge more $ to more parents.
I actually have 2 kids at 2 different clubs so I’m actually pretty familiar with a good amount of soccer on the girls side. I have seen the 05/04/03 all play at SYC...none will make McLean and in fact a good number have tried out before and not made the McLean ECNL team before so there will be no change there.
This merger will shift some of the SYC boys over...especially the 06s but that’s all I can see benefiting McLean. And SYCparents should get ready to pay more $$ for ECNL training g...lol
As for VDA...feel free to talk to any single parent over there on the 06/05/04 and see how they feel about the PWSI merger and their new TD if you don’t believe me.
I think we should have less clubs and increase the rec leagues again. Soccer is just taking $$ from parents. It’s crazy and if my kid doesn’t make the best teams then they move back.
Anonymous wrote:This is just PR. All the SYC kids could have tried out for McLean at any time. None of the girls in the high school levels are good enough so it won’t affect the girls side at all. Other than I’ve heard from 2 parents from McLean already looking to jump to Arlington if they have to drive anywhere near Springfield for even one practice a week. This doesn’t affect any other club on the girls side bc there won’t be any change unless players leave McLean bc of practice distance. The younger SYC boys will help out McLean so I’m assuming that’s the benefit.
And whoever things the VDA/PWSI alliance on the girls side was successful you definitely don’t know anyone there. Players are fleeing...and check out their records in the last 3 years.
