I’m disgusted by this whole school year.
An FCPS teacher with a preschooler is required to have childcare on work days.
She’s also supposed to be working, not frolicking at the playground...

How is it acceptable for a teacher to be at the playground chilling with a preschooler on a day she is supposed to be at work? (1) She's not at work and (2) Her child should be in daycare. She obviously decided to save the daycare costs this year and just slack off.
Teachers were explicitly told that they did not need to arrange for childcare this year. This teacher playing with her child on a Monday morning is only doing what the school board laid out. She is not going above and beyond, but she is not required to be tethered to her computer on Monday's.
If you are upset, feel free to reach out to the school board. They are the ones that said this was what school would be for 2020-21. Not this random teacher.
How is hanging out with her kid at the playground working, exactly? Mondays are supposed to be a full work day for staff.

I just finished my lunch. I did Morning Meeting 9:00 to a little after 9:30. I then went over each assignment for the day. I met with a reading group at 10:00 and another at 10:20. I’ve spent some time here at school trouble shooting some tech issues with our SBTS. I will now work on getting things ready for tomorrow.
My students have:
A math assignment with lesson slides about area.
ST Math
A recorded lesson about book talks and an assignment to complete a book talk using Flipgrid.
A social studies assignment about resources.
I know it’s not ideal and I hope we can be back to our “normal” schedule on the fall.
I don't understand. I thought all FCPS schools were now totally "asynchronous" (AKA no learning) on Mondays?
My 5th grader is online with the teacher from 9 - 11 every Monday and sometimes later, but 9-11 is standard. Some Mondays the teacher will go until 12:30/1, but it's not very often.

No, some FCPS schools chose to keep some synchronous things on Monday. Our ES doesn't do reading groups, but still does do Morning Meeting. The stated reason was that the teachers liked the time to go over the days' assignments with the kids.
My third grader's work for the day is similar to what's posted above, a little more LA and no social studies though.

Grades matter for HS and not ES and everyone knows it. They could load up my 4th grader, we'd just tell her she doesn't have to do it. What's the worst case for her, she gets a 1 or a 2 and it has no bearing on anything next year

OP, don’t listen to these people. You deserve to vent on the internet. I work and have a 4th grader. Take off the parental controls and hand them the iPad or laptop. They will FaceTime friends and play Roblox all day. Cross your fingers and hope for the best while you get those work calls done. Occasionally check the YouTube history. Mine hasn’t thought to delete it yet. - signed parent of the year.

I don't have an HS student, but I keep reading that the HS students are swamped. What are they being given? What kind of work do they have to do?

My third grader has a good chunk of work to do most Mondays (and most school days in general). OTOH I hear about HS kids who literally have nothing to do.
It's not a grade level thing, but a school and teacher thing. Like everything FCPS, where "equity" is centered but nothing is actually consistent.

She tried to avoid you?! I’m so shocked! I can’t imagine why she would do that, you seem so kind and understanding 😒 I’m sure your not one of those parents at all.
You act like she personally chose to handle the pandemic this way and it wasn’t the school board and superintendent who made these decisions
