I am a total looky-loo on renos and updates, mostly because it's not in the cards for us. I don't Facebook, but I'd much rather see someone's reno/redecorate than pictures of what they had for breakfast.

I built my own home and never thought to put it on FB. I am not a big FB user, but when I do go on I see braggy things like this. It is not for me. In my case I think just my parents are interested in that kind of thing so I'd text them photos but that's it.

I enjoy seeing pictures of friend's remodels, especially since I can't see them in person right now!

and if you're able, try to get professional photos taken for if/when you rent or sell before it gets messed up with use!

For years after my mom slightly redid her kitchen she would give anyone who visited a tour of the changes. She wasn't showing off as much as sharing her joy and talking about accessibility in case she becomes wheelchair-bound in the future, but it still made me embarrassed for her as an adult because it could be interpreted as "showing off."

I think a helpful post on Facebook, like "I recently had the privilege of doing a big reno and I have a lot of advice on A, B, C, and D. Message or comment if I can be of help and I look forward to hosting people in the post-pandemic future!" is great!
