Agree with all the PPs - just get him in the water once a week until tryouts to work on endurance and technique. He could be a rock star by the time summer starts.

If you are in MoCo give the guys at TOLL a call, they have a beginner program starting soon.
Those guys are amazing, he will be comfortable swimming FS and BS by the time summer swim rolls round.
