I think the PP should accept that this is a fluid situation. It seems logical and reasonable to me that they’d start off strict, and adjust as things improve. Has PP considered that your kid may have to quarantine at any point? THAT is what I’d me more interested in discussing and learning about.

PP, its the principals and superintendents who are setting these rules not teachers. You’re putting teachers in impossible position. It’s very unfortunate that the principals within Arlington County have implemented such vastly different rules across the schools. Even before returning in person, some schools are handing out packets of work for kids while others weren’t. Some are handing out math manipulatives some were not. Some were providing pre-recorded videos lessons that kids could watch again later if they didn’t understand, others weren’t Where was your outrage then? The truth is the Arlington county schools Engage website has been saying how this would be different since last summer. People either didn’t read it or didn’t want to believe it or had false hope the plan would evolve. Now the facts are right in front of us and people are upset and directing that anger toward teachers. Misguided. Call your principals, email the superintendent.
