Is this true? DH also got stuck on the captcha error today.

What a mess.

People, if you haven't had the pleasure of spending hours each week doing this for your parents already, then let me share some sage words:

1) There will be lots of tech glitches. Accept it. Breathe.
2) Its going to take you a few, if not many, tries/weeks to get an appointment. You should expect that.
3) See if you can grab some friends to help get a spot for you or someone - works much better when multiple people are trying on your behalf.
4) When you get to the appt. booking stage... CLICK ON WHATEVER YOU FIND FIRST. Know what days will and won't work for you and then just pick the first thing that you can get. Don't be picky, just click.

I was the OP of this thread and I got an appt this morning by slightly stretching the industry I work in (though I marked that I do not work in person, which is true) and it still let me register. I felt it was not unethical because according to the guidelines I was supposed to be able to register today.

My spouse was not able to get an appt though so hoping Saturday works.

They do check where you work, so it might not work out for you.
Yeah, it said on the page that you would be required to show proof of your employment.

I don't want to get in all the details but I do have proof that I think would suffice. I'm not concerned.

Today was all zip codes, but the appointments are all taken. I did everything I could, but kept running into error pages, etc -- hopefully better luck next week. Tomorrow is priority zip codes.

ugh, will try again tomorrow (I'm in a priority zip code).

I got through once after filling out the first page of the questionnaire it told me I timed out. Every other time (maybe 50?) it told me the captcha was wrong (it was not).

AND apparently you cannot call the hotline from an AT&T mobile phone??! It told me that I could not complete the call from that device and to use a landline or dial a 1-800 number, that when dialed took me to AT&T, not a DC government office. So this morning was (predictably) a sh*tshow.

I am super annoyed. Husband was eligible by Zip code and health condition, so couldn't get through online. Waiter on hold onto he covid hotline, for an operator and she admitted they made a mistake with the webpage for under 64 residents who qualify. But why didnt she offer to make an appointment by phone?

LOL, oh it's Microsoft.

I do think DC has done a really good job rolling out vaccines, all things considered. But please let's not blame the contractors. You chose the contractors.

The attempt to blame this on Microsoft is probably the most ridiculous part. They hired lousy coders and probably paid them a mint. If it’s the same system of bribes and patronage that drives most of DC’s procurements, it was someone’s cousin who took a Java class back in the aughts.
