I was the OP of this thread and I got an appt this morning by slightly stretching the industry I work in (though I marked that I do not work in person, which is true) and it still let me register. I felt it was not unethical because according to the guidelines I was supposed to be able to register today.
My spouse was not able to get an appt though so hoping Saturday works.
They do check where you work, so it might not work out for you.
