Seriously? I'm 36 and conceived every child like this. #1 accident #2 had sex a few times over a weekend #3 had sex while my husband was on a layover. This is why I don't ness around with birth control too.

Because every single thread on this site that deals with having kids after age 30-35 gets dozens of comments saying your chances of getting pregnant at those ages are nonexistent and that most of those people you know who got pregnant actually had IVF and just didn't tell you.


Look at the Meghan Markle threads - she got married at 36 and half the comments basically said she was too old to be fertile.


But she did have IVF to test for abnormalities. She's pg with a girl now.

My third is the result of a lunchtime quickie. We had fertility treatments to conceive the first two. Kids are 8, 6, and 2. It’s a lot of fun!

Same here, but I’m 8wks at 40 with an 8 and 3 yo. Took about a year of trying for 3 yo, so did not expect it to happen so quickly! Good luck!

I really don't think it is as statistically uncommon as people make it out to be. I think we totally overstate the idea that fertility declines in the late 30s, and so a lot of people think it's "unlikely" to get pregnant from one time when you are in your late 30s or early 40s, so they roll the dice and figure the odds are in their favor. It's just not very uncommon and we are doing people a disservice by overstating the fertility declines.


Yes, we make it seem like its impossible to get pregnant 30s/40s. If you're ovulating, there's still a pretty decent chance.

On the fence with the 3rd, but thought we would "sorta try." That sorta trying lead to twins.
