I struggle with the idea of ENM for several reasons. I think it pulls attention and resources away both from the primary relationship and from the family (kids). I think it takes energy that could/should be used to build and strengthen the primary relationship, not to mention the financial resources dedicated to the side relationships. I also think it models a really dysfunctional relationship for kids.

My husband and I have a good sex life and I can't imagine saying "let's open it up to non monogamy for more variety". Can I see the fun in having sex with some other man? Absolutely! But it feels like we'd be doing nothing but lighting a fuse on our relationship and sooner or later the bomb would go off.
