JT is trash. I hated him after Janet Jackson. I honestly did not know he cheated on Brtney first and didn't pay attention to how he slut-shamed her. In retrospect, it is horrible. He also has some serious cultural appropriation issues. I am glad he is being called out. He is scum. Very talented, but still scum

JT is absolute trash. He got famous off of his relationship with Britney (and before anyone says 'NSync was enough, how much are you following JC and Chris's careers?). He was beyond the worst with Janet Jackson, and parlayed his momentary minor repentance into a form of stature. Everything that he touches is gross - either through exploitation or appropriation. He can't even let his wife take center stage in wedding photos or about childbirth.

My lifelong BFF taught her sons in the valley outside of LA. She had nothing but very nice things to say about both Britney and Kevin. Kevin is the primary parent, he is very involved and serious with their sons. Britney is very pleasant and sweet but seemed a bit immature and more of a weekend parent. Kevin was the one doing the homework with the boys, checking on their tests, conferencing with teachers, etc. He was the stability. Britney is a lovely person, but the boys were better off primarily with Kevin.

Gosh, can you imagine if someone reported on your parenting like your loose lipped friend blabbed to you and probably everyone else? And OF COURSE she was a “weekend parent” as you put it. She doesn’t have primary custody. That tends to cut a person out of the loops. JFC.

Well according to DCUM, public figures are fair for criticism. Looking on her IG it’s pretty clear she has mental issues and needs help.

You could say that about a sizable percentage of people on IG, yet they aren’t force to live their lives under financial conservatorships. People can receive help without their autonomy being taken away. It’s almost as if money is the motive, huh?

The topic is Britney Spears. If this upsets you then it time to take several steps back and go to your happy space.

Sometimes people compare two things to illustrate a point. In this case, Britney Spears vs. other people with mental problems who are living their lives without conservatorships. If that upsets you then it’s time for you to take your own advice.

I really enjoyed this documentary.

They made a great point that most conservatorships are for elderly, non productive people who are not making money....and so there is inherently a conflict of interest for this one, as a lot of people are making lots of money off Britney.

It seems they overplayed their hand when they tried to shift it even more to a business - and that plus all the fans free britney movement sparked someone to at least let her retain a third party financial institution to handle some of the money.

Absolutely Britney needed help - but she was also really pushed over the edge. By the business, but her family AND kevin should have stepped in and gotten her help so that she could see her kids. I would go insane too if someone took my kids away, even visitation. Come on.

She got help, and stabilized. She started working again, and got to raise her kids jointly with Kevin. But the conversatorship going on for years? That seems insane. She should have a trusted financial advisor and there is no reason her dad should be raking in all this money.

What is wrong with Britney? What kind of mental illness does she have and is there proof of it?

This documentary, while interesting, really only shows one side of the story. I feel bad for Britney, but I also feel like her father has her in the best interest.

Agreed. She seems mentally ill to me. Whether or not that means she should be under conservatorship is a different story. Maybe that's an extreme measure and maybe it's appropriate given the circumstances. I'm sure there's more to the story than meets the eye. I hope she can keep getting whatever help she needs.

You seem very angry. You think teachers at any school don't talk about parents? Give me a break. Take some deep breaths. I don't think what PP wrote was disturbing at all, and I gathered that was the case anyway. Why you seem so bent out of shape to hear that the exH is a good parent that does the heavy lifting, instead of the "gold digger" everyone wants him to be and why are you so upset to hear that Britney is a nice person? You seem way too invested.

I guess I do also find it curious that the courts have not granted her desire for a neutral third party conservator. I'm in a different state, but here, the court would strongly consider the wishes of the person deemed incompetent, if they were not objectively harmful wishes - which a third party could not be. Generally third parties where I live are attorneys with a pretty strict code of ethics and requirement to provide documentation and accounting to the court of everything they do on the peprson's behalf. I find that part kind of odd. If she doesn't want her dad in that role, why not appoint an objective party?

Regarding JT, there were two topics- him essentially blaming her for the breakup (insinuating that she had cheated on him), and then talking about their sex life on a radio show. She had previously said that she wanted to wait for marriage, and people fixated on that. She was frequently quizzed in public venues as to whether she was still a virgin. Given the intense focus on her virginity, JT’s disclosure that he had “f@&ked” her was a big deal, really sleazy, and he used the drama for his own gain. This is all in the context of her being a huge target of misogyny in general. Even the First Lady of Maryland around that time found it perfectly appropriate to say (at a domestic violence function!) that she wished she could shoot Britney for being a bad influence on kids.

The whole situation is especially heartbreaking to me because BS just seemed to be a genuinely good, kind, caring person who was hounded until she broke down, and then even that breakdown was used by people for their own financial gain (paparazzi, the financial conservatorship).

- for sure everyone just hopped on the bandwagon that Brittany had cheated on him
- did y’all catch the attorney they interviewed went back to work with Jamie Spears, she’s like let me get back into this pie and get my piece
- although she probably doesn’t need to be on 24/7 lock down
I do think they have Brittany on some type of drugs sedating her because all her IG are very very strange
