I am not arguing there is a difference in the actual skiiing conditions and exposure in WV vs PA. What I am pointing out is that PA has tried (annoyingly without enforcement but still) to limit a bit the amount of extra people coming to its state and increasing the risk of Covid by issuing something saying non-PA people should:1) not come, or 2) test within 3 days of coming.
There are heightened risks to both PA and WV from out of staters coming in to make the ski spots more crowded than they otherwise would be. But WV does not care and PA has said it did. You deciding to flout that just so you can ski closer IS selfish.
If PA wanted to decrease the number of people skiing there they could have set lower limits on lift ticket sales and reservations. Restaurants are open in philadelphia so clearly the state isn't that worried about Covid-19.

We spent $2200 on Epic passes prior to PA making the pointless testing requirements. You’re damn right I’m going to break that rule to ski.

WV has not issued anything saying to not come or test. PA has. That is the difference.
You can make the selfish choice and decide to blow off the PA rule anyway. Plenty of people are making selfish choices during Covid. But don’t pretend you’re any different than others doing whatever they want despite officials’ efforts to put in place some provisions to keep cases. down.
Maybe you follow nonsensical rules, but thinking, rational people can see that the rules are BS.

have you never gone a single mile over the speed limit? That is also breaking local laws (likely with a higher chance of killing someone than skiing, while wearing a mask during COVID). that said I haven't skied in PA - but for other reasons

NP. But there is a spectrum of selfish choices. Crossing a state border to do an outdoor activity is very different than party hopping in your neighborhood.
It's not pretending. I KNOW I am more thoughtful about covid than many others.
