+1 just enough to appease Richmond and give (false) hope to parents, BUT they'll conveniently change their mind the day before, justify it with excuses about not enough teacher vaccinations, need more time for health mitigations to go in place, and whatever else they SB can come up with....They'll pull the run out from under all of us once again.

For those saying that Richmond should definitely not step in and require schools to offer an in-person option:

Is there any point that they SHOULD step in? What if one of the localities stays all-remote or hybrid indefinitely? Or the trolls talking about asynchronous Mondays being here to stay (who are obviously trolls I realize) were actually right? Is that just on VDOE to enforce? The VA constitution says the general assembly can revise the requirements of VDOE for schools in section VIII.

As a Democrat I believe the party has lost it's collective mind about COVID. It has thrown out all issues it cares it about--like educational inequalities and the workforce status of women. The party needs to wake up.
